Linn Bieske developed from a young talent for young people to a renowned scientist at Harvard, MIT and international research organisations.

The young talent

Linn Bieske is a shining example of how the foundation sees, accompanies and develops talent. From awards at “Jugend forscht” at state and national level, the Second Grand Award in Electrical Engineering at the 2012 World Championships, to doctoral studies, to renowned positions at Harvard, MIT and international research organizations.

Leading expert in machine learning and AI

Today, Linn is one of the leading experts in machine learning and AI research, computer vision and language processing. It is not only working to make AI systems more powerful in all areas of data, but also to improve their controllability and comprehensibility for humans. She passes on her experience to the next generation of young Thuringian researchers and helps shape the STEM system as an alumna, juror and coach. Linn’s success is more than a personal career.

Investing in people

Linn’s path shows how targeted investments in STEM education and talent generate a return on innovation that goes far beyond individual funding. When young people are supported at an early age, more than careers are created – entire systems are strengthened. At a time when technology is fundamentally changing society, we need talents like Linn – and institutions like our foundation – that recognize, accompany and bring these talents to fruition.
