Since the world’s first standard software for online retail was introduced in the mid-nineties, Jena has been considered the cradle of e-commerce technology. The endowed professorship “E-Commerce/E-Business” was filled by Prof. Dr. Andrej Werner in September 2014 and is proportionately financed by Jena-based companies and STIFT. The degree programme imparts knowledge, skills and methods to identify, understand, design, apply and manage electronic value-added/service systems and digital economic and transformation processes. The professorship is characterized by practice-oriented research work and close cooperation with regional, national and international practice partners.
