Student Research Center

The Student Research Centers in Thuringia offer children and young people space to discover, invent and explore.

Thuringian Student Research Centers focus on independent research. The network includes a variety of Student Research Centers with different thematic focuses and innovative formats.

They are spaces for children and young people who are enthusiastic about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Here, they can carry out their own projects and research, as well as invent and experiment independently.

The locations offer appropriate equipment and support for this. In addition, they are also a meeting place for young researchers.

A wide range of opportunities await young talents at the Thuringian Student Research Centers:

  • guided experiments, accompanied research or the independent examination of self-selected questions
  • Support for participation in competitions such as the Physics Olympiad, GYPT or Jugend forscht – we will get you ready for the competition, let you use our laboratories and measuring tracks and arrange extracurricular supervisors.
  • Free loan of experiment boxes from grade 5

This gives all children and young people—regardless of their type of school—the opportunity to pursue their passion for discovering, exploring, and inventing in the immediate vicinity of their school or place of residence.
