Innovative successes and top performances need recognition, visibility and networks. As one of the most important business prizes in the Free State, the competition has been honouring outstanding Thuringian innovations since 1994.
The Thuringia Innovation Award is a prize for Thuringians. Companies of all sizes, but also individuals, research institutions and universities that have their headquarters or a business premises in Thuringia are eligible to participate.
With a total of 100,000 euros in prize money, the Thuringia Innovation Award is one of the most highly endowed state innovation prizes in Germany. The prize is awarded in four categories, a special and a person prize.






The competition is under the patronage of the Thuringian Minister of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Rural Areas, Colette Boos-John.
The Foundation for Technology, Innovation and Research Thuringia is responsible for the implementation of the competition.

The nominees for the Thuringia Innovation Award 2024 have been announced. In its meeting on 10.9., the 15-member jury selected 12 innovative Thuringian innovations that can hope for prize money totalling 100,000 euros at the award ceremony on 4.12.2024 in Weimar.
Innovative ideas from Thuringia can be submitted until 30 June.
