Creating the future of STEM

Freiform
The "MINT-friendly school" and "Digital School" seals honor Thuringian schools for future-oriented STEM education and the promotion of digital skills.

Together with a regional network of partners, the national initiative “MINT Zukunft schaffen!” is committed to expanding STEM education in Germany in terms of quantity and quality. The aim is to get more young people interested in STEM professions and to promote STEM skills in society. To this end, as part of the MINT Thuringia initiative, we work closely with companies, schools, associations and other organizations and award the “MINT-friendly school” and “Digital school” awards.

STEM-friendly school

The award with the nationwide signet “MINT-friendly school” is intended to promote schools with a fundamentally STEM focus that is already recognizable.

The award-winning schools are sending a clear signal: STEM and digitalisation do not only belong in the classroom – they are attitudes, profiles and topics for the future. In this way, they are role models, encouragers and drivers of a learning culture that strengthens and inspires young people in Thuringia.

Digital School

The “Digital School” award honors schools that pursue innovative approaches to digitization and computer science. With pedagogical approaches, qualification of teachers, smart networking, innovative concepts and contemporary equipment, the institutions are shaping the school concept of the future.
