International innovation arises where knowledge, technologies, and diverse perspectives come together. The exchange on hyperspectral imaging with participants from 19 countries opened up new connections and opportunities for future collaboration.
On May 20 and 21, 2026, the CHII – Conference on Hyperspectral Imaging in Industry took place in Graz. The event also serves as a prime example of successful collaboration between the Thuringian technology cluster SpectroNet, the Enterprise Europe Network at the Innovation Foundation, and the Styrian Economic Development Agency.
About 120 participants from 68 companies and research institutions used the conference as an opportunity to discuss current developments and industrial applications of hyperspectral imaging. Stakeholders from across the entire value chain were represented—from research and technology development to industrial applications.
INTERNATIONAL CONTACTS AND NEW APPROACHES TO COOPERATION
The matchmaking sessions provided particular added value. During numerous bilateral meetings, the participants from Thuringia engaged in discussions with companies, research institutions, technology providers, and potential users from all over Europe.
This led to new contacts, concrete opportunities for future collaboration, and valuable insights into international developments in this field of technology.
Future technologies such as hyperspectral imaging in particular highlight just how important the exchange between research, technology development, and application is. CHII 2026 has thus once again demonstrated the potential that arises when regional innovation meets international networks—and how initial discussions can lead to new collaborations and joint developments.
